Guide: how big do Havapoos get
How Big Do Havapoos Get? Full-Grown Size and Weight
How big do Havapoos get? Most adults weigh somewhere between 7 and 15 pounds and stand under 15 inches at the shoulder, because that is the range of their parent breeds. A Havapoo from a Toy Poodle parent usually ends up smaller than one from a Miniature Poodle parent.
How big do Havapoos get? Start with the parents
The Havapoo has no official size standard, so the American Kennel Club figures for each parent breed are the best guide.
| Parent breed | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Havanese | 8.5 to 11.5 in | 7 to 13 lb |
| Miniature Poodle | 10 to 15 in | 10 to 15 lb |
| Toy Poodle | No more than 10 in | 4 to 6 lb |
A puppy usually lands between its two parents. Therefore, always ask for the weight of both parents, not only the breed names.
How big do Havapoos get in our own litters?
For reference, the Havapoo puppies on our available puppies page in October 2026 were listed with expected adult weights of 8 to 12 pounds. Each puppy’s page shows its own estimate, together with its parents.
An estimate is still an estimate. Littermates can finish a few pounds apart, so no breeder can promise an exact adult weight.
When do Havapoos stop growing?
Small dogs finish growing early. According to the AKC, small breeds typically stop growing by 6 to 8 months of age, and their skeletons can be mature as early as 8 months (AKC). After that, a young dog still fills out with muscle for a few more months.
As a result, a Havapoo at 6 months is already close to its adult height. If your puppy is far outside the range you were given, ask your vet to check its body condition.
What changes how big Havapoos get
- The Poodle parent. A Toy Poodle sire gives smaller puppies than a Miniature Poodle sire.
- The Havanese parent. Havanese range from 7 to 13 pounds, so the dam matters as well.
- Earlier litters. Adult weights of older siblings are the best predictor, so ask the breeder about them.
- Feeding. Overfeeding does not make a dog taller. It only makes it heavier, which strains small joints.
Is a small Havapoo right for your home?
Size affects daily life. A dog under 15 pounds fits an apartment, travels in an airline cabin carrier and costs less to feed. However, a very small puppy is fragile around young children and needs careful handling.
If you want a larger dog, compare the breeds in Havapoo vs Cavapoo vs Maltipoo, or look at Goldendoodle sizes. For the full picture, read What is a Havapoo?
